Motor City Hustle… The 71st Annual Detroit Autorama… By Dan Podobinski

This year marked my return to the Detroit Autorama after a brief hiatus, and when I say Motor City Hustle, I mean it. Last minute plans often lead to a time crunch, and this was no exception, but Detroit welcomed my wife and I, and tens of thousands of others, with open arms. It was a whirlwind, 24 hour marathon of great cars, great food and comrodery.

As the photos will show, Detroit also welcomed hundreds of amazing hot rods and customs, much to the delight of the throngs that poured through the doors each day. From the recently unearthed, original Uncertain T show rod, to the ’31 Chevy roadster made famous in an appearance by the Beach Boys on the Ed Sullivan Show. From a display of Evel Knievel vehicles, to the prestigious Ridler Award. From the bright lights and shiny paint on the main floor, to the ever popular, and ever casual  lower level, affectionately known as “the basement”, there truly is something for everyone.

Make your plans now to hustle your way to the Motor City next year for the 72nd edition of the legendary Detroit Autorama!
