The end of 1945 was a huge change for America, the use of the A bomb, end of the last world war, and all our boys coming home from the war. These guys were exposed to a world of death and violence like many have never seen before and when a lot of them came back they were different. Some went home like nothing had never happened, But our story leads us in another direction. Some of the boys now men by default came home with a non-giving a shit attitude, and full of disorderly conduct. Here we have one example of that. His nickname was Hungry, getting that from going in the coat closet in school and eating everyone’s lunches. He was one of these fine men who came home from the war craving a little something different. Kicks. After he was back he lived in long beach, which was quite different than it is today? Tattoo shops brothels and bars lined the streets and it was a rough place, damn I wish it was still like that ……

At this time motorcycles were still an every person type of transportation, but was changing quickly with the likes of Hungry. He was apart of one of the oldest clubs out there the Booze Fighters or the 13 Rebels mc .Back then it didn’t seem to be about guns, drugs, and shit. Its all about getting your kicks weather it was racing, taunting the long beach police and out running them or doing circles around em or going up to signal hill and hill climbing the bike , drinking beer and hanging with friends. Back then there were no club rivalries , all of them hung out together with no beefs. This bike did all of these. Hungry and the bike went to all the Hollister bike events IE the 1947 Hollister Motorcycle Riot, where the media deemed these people as dangerous and outlaws, which was hardly the real facts.

The long beach cut down was a hopped up cut up version of a 1924-lowered JD chassis made especially for hill climb. The power plant came from an 80 inch JDH motor all hopped up on the internals. It still hauls ass. Hungry build this bike as a Crocker killer. In 1946 Crocker motorcycles owner came out to say he had the fastest bikes ever and if you were to get beat by anything else out there he would refund your money and you get to keep the bike as a marketing ploy. It spawned this bike. Hungry would pick on these guys with their new Crockers antagonizing them racing them and beating them every time. No one knows If Albert Crocker ever paid back dollar one but it was a point ol Hungry had to make.
